Baltic Bloom

baltic bloom

I came upon the blooming hollyhock during a cruise on the Baltic Sea. I was attracted by the glowing white countenance contrasted with the deep colorful shadows in the blossom and the background. I noticed that the bright blues of the sea and the yellow of the sun were reflected everywhere. I have just finished this painting, and I am posting for your enjoyment. When you view it, think of a quiet island in the Baltic Sea where bright light and blue reflections create images not to be forgotten.
